NAVIGATE:

What can be done to save Shererwood Forest? You’ve heard of timeshares - this is "tree share." Here is how it works:
You purchase an annual share of a Golden Delicious apple tree, which for 2006 is $100. We then direct market our magnificent apples to you, the customer, in a unique way. You in turn will save money, have family options to experience our farm, and directly contribute to saving a truly special place from the obnoxious jaws of urban sprawl. Persons purchasing ownership shares have priority to repurchase their shares the following year.

Your annual tree share gives you the following benefits:
Your name to be placed on the trunk of one specific tree.

The opportunity to pick up from the farm two free boxes of organically raised apples (38 lbs. each) during harvest. We will pack/handle for a small fee, and ship the apples to owners C.O.D., if you like. Apples will be orchard run, meaning different sizes, field washed, unwaxed and in a box with guaranteed weight of 38 pounds. Shipping price alone for a box of apples via UPS in the 48 states in three days runs about $80.

We guarantee that the apples you receive at harvest are from your specific family tree and no other.

Owners can visit the orchard and their trees at any time maintenance is not in progress (i.e. spraying). Photo opportunities abound.

Use of the orchard picnic area anytime during the summer, except when orchard maintenance is in progress.

The opportunity to help pick your apples during harvest.

A map of the orchard showing the location of your own special tree.

A description of how owners' trees are farmed during a 12-month cycle.

Quality time spent with farm animals for the entire family (beginning 2007).

Rustic camp sites and fire rings (2007). When fire season allows, firewood will be on hand for campfires. Owners are given at least one free night camping on a scheduled basis. Each campsite will include a tent pad, a fire ring, and a picnic table.

Twenty-percent price discount on any cider pressed during the fall U-Press season. Cider pressing is a separate farm operation that takes place during harvest and afterward.

Swimming access to Lake Chelan.

An ownership letter for each share purchased.

We will perform all the following:
Farm the orchard organically. We use only organic sprays/pest control and no conventional herbicides.

Pick the fruit at harvest, field wash and pack fruit from individual trees for owners (2 boxes for each owner). We will pack apples without regard to size. If customer requests, we will ship boxed apples to customers as fresh, field washed, orchard run apples with a guaranteed weight of 38 pounds and variable sizes. Cost of shipping is borne by the customer/owner.

Get fruit inspected, labeled, and mailed at harvest time with 3-day delivery anywhere in the 48 contiguous states. Owners will pay shipping and a small packing/inspection fee.

Provide rustic camp sites with fire rings and picnic areas (2007). "Rustic" means tent camping, not RV camping. Each campsite will have a picnic table, a fire ring and a place for a tent. Most sites will have parking immediately adjacent to the campsite.

Provide access to farm animals for families (2007).
